Social-emotional Supports
Dear Staff,
This fall, the curriculum team is excited to unveil our comprehensive approach to social-emotional learning (SEL) support for the upcoming year. As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering the holistic development of our students and their families, we are proud to introduce a three-pronged strategy encompassing SEL assessments, a meticulously crafted SEL curriculum, mental health first aid training, and a network of referral supports.
Our holistic SEL approach is designed to address the diverse needs of our community and ensure that every individual receives the necessary tools and resources to thrive emotionally and academically. To accomplish this, we have partnered with a network of esteemed SEL providers, each bringing a unique and valuable perspective to our program.
First and foremost, we are collaborating with Mosaic by ACT, renowned for its expertise in SEL assessments and interventions. Their data-driven approach will enable us to gain invaluable insights into the emotional well-being of our students and tailor our support accordingly.
Additionally, we are excited to integrate "Harmony," a rapid SEL program developed by Teach Rock. This dynamic curriculum will infuse music and the arts into our SEL initiatives, engaging students in creative and meaningful ways to enhance their emotional intelligence.
Furthermore, we have partnered with The Home for Little Wanderers’ Program, an organization with a rich history of providing comprehensive support to children and families. Their expertise in mental health and referral services will ensure that individuals facing more significant challenges receive the specialized care they require.
By combining the strengths of these distinguished partners, New York Edge is poised to deliver a robust SEL program that caters to the unique needs and interests of our students and their families. We believe that this collaborative, multi-faceted approach will empower our community to develop the critical social-emotional skills necessary for success in both school and life. We look forward to the positive impact that this initiative will have on the growth and well-being of our students and their families.
Looking forward to a powerful year of learning and growing,
Stephanie

SEL Dashboard Overview - What you need to know
Check out this powerful video from the ACT team to learn more about how to understand dashboard and assessment data
We expect that ALL sites will administer assessments to their students.
All assessments must be completed by November 10th.
The assessments will only take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete and will provide instant SEL data points. It is essential that your students complete the short assessments before the scheduled workshop sessions because you will be analyzing your student's data during the assessment dashboard workshop.
